They're OK for getting from A to B, just so long as you don't need to arrive at B on time! The money I save not having to pay, tax, insurance, MOTs, services, etc means the occasions I do need a car I can hire one and still be quids in, plus it means I get a sparkly new car every time as well :-) I know it's not a viable option for everyone but if a few more people tried it they might find that owning a car isn't as essential as they thought.
