Dont normally listen to radio 4, but it came on and this posh voice was talking about being in jail. Many years ago my bloke and I were arguing and I flared out punched him in the chest. We are still together and I still love him, but at that time we were arguing about many things...partly his family partly my selfishness. I have only child syndrome. This is not a parallel of your story - but I get the spur of the moment foolishness, albeit mine was minor. Being in an unhappy relationship...well there's nothing worse. I lived with a friend who's boyfriend beat her, I moved out...a few days later I heard he'd bashed her head on the radiator. She kept staying, no kids involved, no mortgage. She was working he was not. She could've left him easily. Love holds us, kids hold us, money commitments hold us. Maybe it was your kids who kept you from leaving - but to come out and speak about it must be a tremendous help to you. I hope your life works out and you are happier in your 2nd part of your life.

You are a silly moo, I am or was at my best when you lot were tiny and we had v little dosh to spend on food. You look in the fridge and see maybe 2 or 3 items and suddenly you get an idea for a ( reasonably ) nutritious idea..........thus 'soup stews' were invented! Yes, I know you loathed them but it was er.......food and probably much healthier, then there were pasties, pies, veggey based stuff, home made ( awful ) bread but as things get better so does your food! I still bake and though I don't eat that much of it I enjoy the fact that others like it! And in a way it is interesting you and Sara like to cook because ( as you know..) my pastry is shit!

But luckily I do love to cook and am extremely proud that you and sara love to cook too, doesn't matter if you produce disasters or triumphs, all that matters is you make the effort!xxxxxxxxx

Both are gorgeous, but I love it curly. Love it, love it, love it. I think it suits your face better. I was just like you, fighting my curly hair for years, but then I just figured, why fight it? If it wants to be curly, let it be curly. It still drives me a bit mad, but I've been much happier since I Embraced The Curl :)

Hello Eve and Jack
Very sorry to hear about your mum, I too have lovely memories of your mum especially the cakes she made and the coffee mornings round your house. I know you have been talking to Sam on face book (I think) and we hope you both will find the strength and be ok. I lost touch with your mum before you moved to Bristol but was kept informed by others of you all.
Fiona has described your mum to a tee and these fond memories will last.

Fiona. Love your blog about Lizzie. You got her spot on! I too, found out yesterday about her sad passing. She was a great mum who had a wicked sense of humour, and always brightened my day up when I picked the kids up from Hart Plain Infants. Appreciate your comments about those scary mummies in the playground! At least I spoke to you as well!!, and you being SO much taller than me!! I met Lizzie at Stepping Stones Pre-school in Denmead (now closed). Summer and Eve became firm friends and I remember when Jack was first born and she came into Preschool to show him off to everyone. She was so proud of her kids, but in a totally natural and unpushy way. So much water has gone under the bridge since those days.. divorce, remarriages, house moves, incarceration (!) to name a few!! Lizzie was such a selfless person. The day she moved to Bristol, she spent the entire afternoon celebrating my Wedding to Simon. Jack completely stole the show when he stole my bouquet and starting posing for the camera. Later I remember her saying goodbye to us when she had to leave and drive to Bristol. So sad that she had to move away, but at least she had her family around and ended up being happy with Niel. I didnt see her much after that, but we kept in touch briefly over the years. I still cant believe she has gone, and cannot imagine what Eve and Jack and Niel must be going through. Lizzie may be gone now, but she had left a legacy of a lot of happy memories for her friends. It was a privilege to have known her.
